Accessibility

The PWDs Act 2003 specifies that persons with disabilities are entitled to a barrier- free and disability friendly environment to enable them to have access to buildings,
roads and other social amenities, and assistive devices and other
equipment to promote their mobility.

Accessible Design / Universal Design Resources: American website with links to resources about how to make sure the design of buildings and assistive devices meet the needs of persons with disabilities.

Adopt Access: Kenyan non-governmental organisation (NGO) formed to promote and advocacy for accessible environment and infrastructure for the benefit of vulnerable groups such as persons with disabilities, the elderly and young among others.

Ministry of Public Works:  The ministry which has responsibility to facilitate provision and maintenance of quality buildings and public works for sustainable-economic development.

Kenya Bureau of Standards: This government agency is responsible for established internationally recognised standards for products made or sold in Kenya. KEBS develops standards to ensure that products are accessible for persons with disabilities. 

Ministry of State for Planning National Development and Vision 2030: Ministry which aims to enhance the capacity in national planning and policy management for improved living standards of Kenyans.
