The National Ability Awards are part of the Kenyan Government’s celebration of International Day of Persons with Disabilities that is held on 3 December each year. The day is a collaborative effort to celebrate and acknowledge the contributions and experiences of persons with disabilities.

The Awards recognise persons with disabilities who have achieved something remarkable or made a significant contribution to their community, as well as people, groups and corporations within the community who have contributed to the disability sector or improved access and inclusion.
