Register your Organisation

NCPWD has an Online Directory of Organisations of and for Persons with Disabilities in Kenya. This information is intended to enable:

  1. Persons with disabilities to find services and organizations that they could join for mutual support and advocacy.
  2. NCPWD to communicate effectively with other organizations concerned with disability issues .
  3. Organizations of persons with disabilities to network with each other.

How to register an organisation of or for persons with disabilities.

If you have an organisation which provides services to persons with disabilities or an organisation of persons with disabilities please register with NCPWD. There are three steps to the process of registration:

Step 1: Fill out the Online Form to register Organisations of and for Persons with Disabilities

Step 2: Download and print the NCPWD Registration Form for Organisations (pdf document) and return it to us with the required evidence as outlined below.

Step 3: Once the hard copy of the form and the evidence has been returned to us we will produce a certificate which can be collected from the NCPWD Office.

To ammend your record: Please send an email to org.registration@ncpwd.go.ke outlining the requested changes.

EVIDENCE REQUIRED TO REGISTER WITH NATIONAL COUNCIL FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES:

1. FOR LOCAL DISABLED PEOPLE’S ORGANISATIONS AND SELF HELP GROUPS:
a. You must provide a completed application form.
b. You must provide a current certificate of registration with the District Gender Children and Social Development Officer (DGSDO).
c. You must provide a letter from the DGSDO to say that your membership is at least 30% PWDs or parents of PWDs and your management committee is at least 60% PWDs (or parents) and either the chair or the secretary of the organisation are persons with disabilities.

2. FOR NATIONAL LEVEL DPOs:
a. You must provide a completed application form.
b. You must provide a certificate of registration as an NGO with the relevant government authority.
c. You must provide a copy of your constitution.
d. You must provide evidence that at least 30% of your membership is made up of PWDs or parents of PWD and 60% of your management committee and either the Chairperson or the CEO is is either a PWD or a parent of CWDs.

3. FOR EDUCATION PROVIDERS (Schools, colleges, polytechnics, universities etc.):
a. You must provide evidence that you are registered with the relevant Government Ministry (Education or Youth Affairs).
b. You must provide a service charter or similar list of services that you provide to persons with disabilities.

4. FOR HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS (clinics, hospitals etc):
a. You must provide a completed application form.
b. You must provide evidence that you are registered with the relevant Government Ministry (Public Health or Medical Services).
c. You must provide a service charter or similar list of services that you provide to persons with disabilities.

5. FOR OTHER ORGANISATIONS PROVIDING SERVICES TO PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES (e.g. Rehabilitation):

a. You must provide a completed application form.
b. You must provide a certificate of registration as an NGO with the relevant government authority.
c. You must provide a service charter or similar list of services they provide to persons with disabilities.
